A good sweet and spicy rub will appeal to many rib aficionados and please the crowd at your next picnic. There are as many types of rubs as there are cooks that cook with them. This basic recipe leans a bit toward the sweet side but the heat can of course be adjusted to taste. The following recipe will be plenty for two racks of pork baby back ribs.
- 2/3 cups brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cayenne pepper
- 2 tsp ground oregano
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 1 teastoon black pepper
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp chili powder. To add heat, try some tonguespank smoke bourbon seasoning.
Just mix it all together and apply to your ribs like this for example!
This looks amazing I am going to try it on some of my ribs this weekend
